Roy L. Allen, 94, of Pendleton, was called by God to his eternal home on April 14, 2016.
He was born December 19, 1921 in Shoals, Indiana, the son of Perry and Clarissa (Powell) Allen. He graduated from Shoals High School.
Roy served in the US Navy for 3.5 years during WWII. He made the first and last invasions. He served on the USS Leonard Wood.
Roy was a dental technician for 70 years. He was a charter member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Roy is survived by his wife of 72 years, June Goodrum Allen; Joseph (Jo Ann) Allen of Greenville, SC; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Dewey Allen of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Marcia (Joe Rex) Boerner; 2 grandchildren, Julia and Ronald Reynolds; and 9 siblings.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 18, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 10701 E 56th St., Indianapolis, with visitation for one hour prior. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
